Beautiful lakes, friendly folks, rich forests, historic places and
great accommodations await you in Burnett County. The members of our
Resort
and Campground Association invite you to vacation in Burnett County.
Located in northwestern Wisconsin, Burnett County is best known for
great fishing on over 300 lakes and thousands of acres of wild northern
forests. In addition, 75 miles of the St. Croix and Namekagon rivers
thread through our county, and they offer excellent canoeing, kayaking,
and camping on pristine rivers. Wisconsin’s largest state-owned
wildlife complex, which includes Crex Meadows, provides prime waterfowl
hunting and bird watching.
Over 100,000 acres of county-owned public forest land are open for
hunting; many have trails for off-road vehicles. In addition, we have
an extensive network of groomed snowmobile trails and several excellent
cross country ski areas. The Gandy Dancer Recreational Trail offers excellent biking and
hiking. We are the home to a restored fort and trading posts, seven
golf courses and two gaming casinos. Dining and shopping opportunities are plentiful. Visit the Area Businesses section to find out what's available!
Collectively our members offer over 100 vacation homes and lake
cabins, almost 200 hotel/motel/b&b units, and 600 campsites on some of the
best lakes, rivers and trails that nature has to offer. We offer
everything from basic camp sites to lush suites with wireless internet
access. If you’ve never been to Burnett County, we think you’ll find
that
despite all of our great attractions, we are not overly commercialized.
Most of our businesses are still owned by mom-and-pop,
and we offer excellent personalized service in the best part of
Wisconsin! |
